Document Prepper
eBizDocs is fortunate to have Carolyn Williams as one of its longest employed eBizDocs TEAM members. Carolyn started at eBizDocs in 2007. Prior to eBizDocs, Carolyn worked as a toll collector (aka Sentry of the Thruway) for New York State. She left that position following a health crisis and discovered eBizDocs through a support service program. Carolyn initially started as a scanner, but not every job is the right “fit” and was offered a position as a Document Preparation worker (Doc Prepper). The transition from scanner to Doc Prepper went smoothly. Carolyn felt and still believes eBizDocs’ leadership and managers are all supportive. “You can ask any question and know your supervisor and or manager will be there to listen, encourage, guide, and support you to get the job done,” said Carolyn. She excelled at her new position and was asked to try another assignment called pre-prepping.
Not all eTEAM Doc Preppers make good Pre-Preppers due to the necessity for a high level of attention to detail and 100 percent accuracy. Pre-prepping is not associated with all projects but, when required, it is of the utmost importance the job is performed correctly. Carolyn understands pre-prepping is based on the customer’s specifications and requires review of document types and other details that ultimately shape Quality Assurance’s work. For example, some files become one large document, while others become many different documents. The New York State Liquor Authority is currently her favorite project because it requires pre-prepping. “I just stay focused, keep my head down and make sure the job gets done correctly. I take great pride in my work and I am happy to know my work and concentration gives our customers the product they need.”
Carolyn is direct and to the point when asked how she felt about working at eBizDocs. Without dropping a beat, Carolyn smiles and says: “eBizDocs is a GREAT place to work! Howard is so supportive, as are supervisors and other managers, and I LOVE my co-workers. Everyone is helpful and friendly. We enjoy each other’s company even during these challenging times because of COVID. Everyone pitches in when something needs to get done.” Fellow eBizDocs TEAM members appreciate Carolyn’s morning routine of coming in, taking off her coat, and setting up the coffee machine for the day. “It feels like home when the smell of coffee is floating through the air. I also know it gets all the coffee drinkers going for the day.” Home and family are important parts of Carolyn’s life. Her son, daughter in law and grandkids are very vital to Carolyn’s balance, happiness, and satisfaction with life.
